The Ellisimo Sofa Wall Rule
Your artwork should usually fill around ⅔ to ¾ of the width of your sofa.
For example:
Sofa width: 240 cm
↓
Ideal artwork width: approximately 160–180 cm
This measurement applies to the overall arrangement, so it could be:
- One large statement artwork
- A set of 2
- A set of 3
- A gallery wall
The aim is simple: your artwork should feel visually connected to the furniture below it — rather than floating in the middle of a large empty wall.

How High Should I Hang My Artwork?
You've found the right size.
Now don't hang it too high!
As a general guide, leave approximately
20–30 cm
between the top of your sofa and the bottom of your artwork.
This helps visually connect the artwork to the furniture beneath it.
Too high and the artwork can feel disconnected.
Too low and the space can feel crowded.
The goal is for the sofa and artwork to feel like one complete arrangement.

Wall Art Sizing FAQs
What size artwork should I put above my sofa?
As a general rule, aim for artwork or an overall artwork arrangement approximately ⅔ to ¾ of the width of your sofa.
Should I choose one large artwork or several pieces?
Both can work beautifully. One large piece creates a cleaner, more minimal look, while sets and gallery walls create a more layered effect.
Can I put two artworks above my sofa?
Absolutely. A set of two is one of the easiest ways to create a balanced arrangement above a sofa.
What size should a set of three be?
